The Agency for Monitoring and Evaluation of the Performance of Public Enterprises (AMEPIP) organized on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, a first round of consultations with representatives of the tutelary public authorities and central and local state enterprises, with the subject “The role of the compliance officer in relation to AMEPIP”.
The topics discussed during this meeting concerned the responsibilities of AMEPIP, in terms of “monitoring compliance with the legal framework on integrity, the implementation of the integrity plans developed by public enterprises and the application of the National Anti-Corruption Strategy 2021-2025”.
Another important topic of the debate was about the role and responsibilities of compliance officers in state-owned enterprises, in the context of collaboration with AMEPIP, which is to develop a Compliance Officer Guide. It will assist the representatives of public enterprises in fulfilling their duties, according to the law.
During the meeting, both AMEPIP representatives and those of state enterprises emphasized the importance of an open and continuous dialogue in the future to improve state companies' performance and transparency. At the same time, in order to better clarify the issues related to the standards of institutional integrity, AMEPIP intends to organize more similar events in the coming period.
These initiatives strengthen integrity and transparency within public enterprises, thereby contributing to the effective implementation of anti-corruption and corporate governance policies.
